Can you promise not to judge me on my worse days? Can you ignore my attitude on days when I’ve had enough? I may not be rude, but I certainly won’t smile. Is it possible to forget that you heard me screaming at the top of my lungs just yesterday? Did you see my last sinful act? Probably not, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. Thank God you can’t read my thoughts, or hear the private conversations of my heart. If only you had seen me in my twenties; I was a mess.
I promise not to act like my sin is less than yours. Instead, I will pray for God to remove any strongholds that Satan has in our lives. I will ask Him to remove any burdens that we can no longer bear. I will pray for your safety, and for the gaping hole in your heart left by those who claimed to love you, but only hurt you. I will listen when you speak, and acknowledge the hurt behind your harsh words. I will not lie to you, and tell you that your lifestyle is pleasing to God, but I will let you know that He loves you and that He misses you. If He can forgive me, He can forgive anyone of us. I will tell you that although I don’t know you well, we all have our own demons and it’s going to take God to remove them from the very fabric of our being. The world hasn’t dealt you a fair hand, and it won’t, because we were born in sin. The good news is that we don’t have to die in it.
Love,
Anyone of Us
